You are still you, no matter what you’re going through.
So often in life, we cope with stress by making our worlds smaller. Over time, this can leave us feeling disconnected from who we truly are. Therapy can help you reconnect with what makes life beautiful, meaningful, and fulfilling—while also supporting you in addressing the challenges that brought you here.
My approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based model that helps you move towards what you want to do, be about and cultivate more of in your life.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based approach that helps you develop psychological flexibility — the ability to stay present, open, and engaged in your life even when thoughts, emotions, or physical sensations are difficult. It teaches you to develop the ability to tolerate and hold multiple internal experiences simultaneously and supports a more integrated and grounded sense of self.
Rather than trying to eliminate distress, ACT helps you change your relationship with it so you can move toward what truly matters to you. The work you do in therapy, and the way you practice it in your daily life, is what leads to lasting psychological change.
